  • Guideline-10: Culture and Building Culture

Based on the town’s current cultural offers, supplementary cultural perspectives are to be presented and an attractive cultural environment is to be created at the air base. This can help increase the cultural variety of the entire town and the quality of life for its citizens. The memory of the aviation history and the long common history of the air base and the town is to be preserved for future generations and to be made a special feature of the site. A concept is to include for example the memorial, characteristic buildings and areas; the idea of setting up a documentation center is to be pursued further. Coordination with the memorial site for the Munich Massacre as planned by the district is to be achieved.

The heritage in regard to the site’s building culture is to be preserved and developed further via a contemporary and high-quality architecture.
